Kudos to the folks at The Vikings Wire for finding this picture first.
Have we mentioned that it’s the offseason yet? Because if we haven’t, it’s totally the offseason right now.
Apparently, Minnesota Vikings’ cornerback Xavier Rhodes was hanging out at the SiriusXM studios in New York on Wednesday, and he ran into someone that pretty much everyone knows.

Yes, that’s super-famous TV and movie actor Matthew McConaughey, who was apparently also at the SiriusXM studios.
While nobody’s saying what the Rhodes and McConaughey talked about, I think I have a couple of ideas.
- Rhodes told McConaughey that he had five interceptions this past season, and McConaughey responded that he “had to pump those numbers up” because “those are rookie numbers.” Rhodes then told McConaughey that he actually had zero interceptions as a rookie, and things got awkward.
- McConaughey and Rhodes argued briefly about which side of the formation Rhodes should play on. Xavier thinks he should be primarily on the left side, while McConaughey thinks he’d be better on the “alright alright alright.”
- McConaughey asked Rhodes who his favorite teammate was, and Rhodes said fellow cornerback Terence Newman. When asked why, he said “because Terence keeps getting older and I stay the same age.”
Again, I can’t confirm that any of those conversations actually took place, but they really should have. The folks from The Vikings Wire speculated that they actually talked about football (as crazy as that sounds), but what fun would that be?
Did I mention that it’s the offseason?
