Happy Monday, everyone!
Well, it’s the last week of the season, finally. It’s looking like we’re going to have some news on Adrian Peterson soon, so at least we’ll have something to disagree talk about.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the report from Jason Cole that Teddy won’t be back in 2017. As I said last week, I don’t have a lot of confidence that this report has any substance, but we’ll see what happens.
The Vikings disputed the report of Bridgewater’s status, per Chris.
Chris posted a correction on the Adrian Peterson timeline.
Vikings news from other sources:
Over at the Strib, Sid Hartman says the Vikings must find a way to fix their awful running game.
From Vikings.com:
Mike Garafolo has an update about Teddy’s rehab.
Everson Griffen surprised his high school coach.
Craig Peters has 7 takeaways from the 2017 Senior Bowl.
The Senior Bowl announced practice awards and shared analytics.
Around the rest of the NFL:
Chris Ballard was hired as the Colts GM, per NFL.com.
From the Mercury News, in a stunning move, the 49ers hired John Lynch as their new GM.
We come to today’s media selection.
Here’s my favorite singer of all time, Merle Haggard, singing a duet with Jewel on one of his classics.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
