Happy post-win Tuesday, DN faithful!

Hey, a win is a win. A win in Soldier Field never comes easy, and Coach Zimmer seems to have finally rid the team of the prime-time curse that followed us for many years. There were no further major injuries for our favorite team, so I’ll enjoy it.

As I’m sure most of you saw (or have already read), Bradford started, but something was not right with him. He didn’t look good on the field, and he didn’t look good when you saw him on the sideline. I have zero clue what is ailing him, but he’s obviously not over it yet. Case Keenum came on in relief just prior to halftime, and did a great job providing the spark the offense needed to get going. Prior to that, the offense was stagnant and showed almost zero sign of life. It’s nice to have a capable backup who can at least guide the ship until the captain can take over again.

Hey, Jerrick McKinnon also had a nice night (although he ALMOST fumbled, almost doesn’t count except for hand grenades, horseshoes, and nuclear warheads). He had a really big run to provide some much needed points, and picked up some tough yards. He was starting to get some criticism from fans (some of which he deserved) for his recent production (or lack thereof), but if he can run the ball like he did last night, the duo of McKinnon and Murray, along with our surprisingly competent-to-good O line, will provide the team a nice running game.

The defense, as we’ve come to expect, performed like the solid unit that they are. They are the heart and soul of this team, and they are sure fun to watch. Harrison Smith baited the rookie QB into throwing the pick that sealed the W for the team, Barr and Kendricks were all over the field all night, and our D line was rock solid. I LOVE watching good defense, and I am so thankful that we have Coach Zimmer.

If the defense can continue to do their thing, and our offense can do enough to keep us in the race, and Teddy can get fully healthy at some could be a fun year. I’m gonna enjoy it, I hope you do too.

One of our traditions here on the day after a win is playing the official Vikings fight song. Fire up the band, boys & girls!

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
