For the Minnesota Vikings’ season opener, wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen both wore custom cleats in honor of Randy Moss being inducted into the Ring of Honor. Now, another member of the team has gotten some sweet new shoes, but he’s going in a slightly different direction.
Tight end Kyle Rudolph will be wearing cleats this Sunday to honor a different sort of athlete. . .the WWE Superstar known as “The Undertaker.”
The Undertaker is on anyone’s short list of the greatest performers in wrestling history. He was a consistent presence in the WWF/E for over twenty years, and wrestled his last match at Wrestlemania this past April. In that match, he was defeated by current WWE Superstar. . .and former Minnesota Vikings training camp body. . .Roman Reigns.
After Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Rudolph make his way to the Target Center. The WWE will be holding their “Tables, Ladders, and Chairs” pay-per-view event at the home of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx on Sunday evening.
I had no idea that Rudolph was a big wrestling fan, so this is a pretty cool thing to see, in my opinion.
