Lost in some of the excitement of the Minnesota Vikings’ 24-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium was the fact that, by the end of the game, the Vikings had a completely new left side of their offensive line.
Left guard Jeremiah Sirles, who was starting in place of the injured Nick Easton, left the game with a knee injury and was replaced by rookie Danny Isidora. Later in the game, Riley Reiff also departed with a leg issue, and was replaced by second-year player Rashod Hill. The injuries to Sirles and Reiff left the Vikings without any replacement offensive linemen for part of the second half. . .rookie Aviante Collins was inactive for the contest.
In his press conference after the game, Vikings’ head coach Mike Zimmer said that he didn’t think the injuries to Reiff and Sirles were anything serious. He also said that he hoped that Easton, who missed his second straight contest, would be ready to go when the Vikings take on the Cleveland Browns next week at Twickenham Stadium in London.
