Wednesday Open Thread: October 25, 2017

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

It’s the half-way point of the work week, we’re coasting into a nice weekend with some Sunday morning Vikings football to look forward to. Since Zimmer and company arrived, the team has slowly shed the curses that plagued them for years. The prime time curse, the Soldier Field curse, the “look like dog poop in games where they should dominate” curse, etc. etc. I’m cautiously confident that they’re going to handle their business on Sunday morning, and give us a nice win to enjoy with our coffee.

ESPN wonders if the Vikings are the favorite to win the NFC North. I honestly don’t think it’s much of a question at this point. They’re playing the best football, even without their starting QB. That’s what having a more complete roster will do for you, one injury doesn’t torpedo the season.

The Seahawks and Dwight Freeney have agreed to terms on a one year contract, per ESPN. The 37 year old will fill in for the injured Cliff Avril.

ESPN talks about the rocky relationship between Kirk Cousins and Washington (it’s Stephen A. Smith talking, don’t say I didn’t warn you). They also speculate on where he could play in 2018.
