Despite having a 5-2 record so far in 2017, the Minnesota Vikings haven’t gotten a whole lot of recognition in the individual player awards. That changed in Week 7, thanks to the performance of their kicker.
The NFL has announced that Vikings’ kicker “Cobra” Kai Forbath has been named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7.
Forbath provided the bulk of the Vikings’ scoring in their 24-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. He connected on six field goals, one shy of tying the team record currently held by Rich Karlis. Two of those field goals came from beyond 50 yards. Despite his struggles with extra points. . .he missed another one on Sunday on the Vikings’ only touchdown of the afternoon. . .Forbath has still only missed one field goal as a member of the Vikings since being signed to replace Blair Walsh last season.
Congratulations to Kai Forbath on being named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7 of NFL action!
