Merry Tuesday, everyone!

We trudge through this dreaded day together, knowing we have no football to look forward to this weekend. Anyone doing anything on the smoker this weekend? If it’s remotely tolerable, I’m going fishing. If not.......I’m probably still going fishing, and also doing something on the smoker, just not sure what. By the way, I’m travelling today & tomorrow, so tomorrow’s thread will be brought to you by just_rob. Look in the fanposts for the thread if you don’t see it on the front page, I’ll move it up as soon as I can.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

J-Dog updated us on four roster moves made by the Vikings. Welcome back, J-Dog!

Chris looks at which Vikings games could get flexed.

Ted and Di posted Roughing the Podcast 36: The Second Half Of This Episode Is Much Better Than The First.

Vikings news from other sources:

Over at the Strib, they wonder how high Keenum’s ceiling might be as we wait to hear what happens with Teddy.

From, Nate Burleson on Good Morning Football says the NFC North runs through Eden Prairie, Steve Wyche comments on what Mike Zimmer has accomplished since arriving in Minnesota (I couldn’t agree more, Zim has done a hell of a job here), and there’s lots more to look through in the media vault.

Around the rest of the NFL:

The 49ers have acquired Jimmy Garroppolo in a trade with the Patriots.

Ezekiel Elliot’s suspension has been reinstated, per the Sporting News.

Also from the Sporting News, the Texans traded tackle Duane Brown to the OT needy Seahawks.

From the Mothership, Siemien looked bad as the Chiefs handled the Broncos last night on MNF. Seeing games like that makes me thankful we have Keenum on the team. I remember in the not-so-distant past when the Vikings’ best starter looked much worse than our backup is looking. It’s a good “problem” that we’re having.

We come to our media selection:

Well, it’s Halloween, and I think I’ve played this every Halloween since I’ve been posting the open thread, so no need to disrupt tradition.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
