The NFL Trade Deadline came and went at 3:00 PM Central time today, and unless something has been very, very delayed, Rick Spielman and the Minnesota Vikings stood pat and made no trades.
The Vikings, who are already down two draft picks for the 2018 NFL Draft, apparently either didn’t find anyone that tickled their fancy enough to give up collateral to acquire them or just couldn’t hammer out the particulars of a deal that could involve another player.
That’s not to say that the trade deadline was completely quiet, as a few moves were made that likely won’t affect the Vikings too much. The biggest move came last night, when the New England Patriots sent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to he San Francisco 49ers. Other deals saw offensive tackle Duane Brown go from Houston to Seattle, the Philadelphia Eagles acquire running back Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins, and the Carolina Panthers send wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to the Buffalo Bills.
Now, the Vikings can officially move on to more important matters. . .like who is going to be the starting quarterback for this team when they return to the field in Week 10.
