Mike Zimmer Acquires Crystal Ball, Does Not Practice Santeria

And, apparently, he’s afraid to use it

In the wake of quarterback Sam Bradford suffering a knee injury in the first week of the season, Minnesota Vikings’ head coach Mike Zimmer was asked if Bradford would play against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His response?

"I don’t have a crystal ball," Zimmer joked. "I anticipate that when he’s ready to practice and ready to play, he’ll play."

Well, Zimmer doesn’t have that excuse anymore.

The head coach mentioned at his press conference yesterday that he does now, in fact, have a crystal ball that was given to him by a Twin Cities psychic.

Unfortunately, it appears the instructions she sent might have been in another language, because Zimmer apparently has no idea how it’s supposed to be used. As we mentioned earlier in the week, Zimmer still doesn’t know whether or not Bradford is going to play on Monday night against the Chicago Bears.

I don’t know if this means that the Vikings have an official team psychic or anything now or not. With the way things usually roll for this franchise, I think that they should be willing to explore pretty much any avenue at this point.
