We are ninety minutes from kickoff at FedEx Field in Washington, D.C., folks, and that means that both the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins have put together their lists of the players for each of their teams that will be sitting out for this week’s contest. Let’s take a look at those lists, starting with the visiting team.
Minnesota Vikings
- DE Tashawn Bower
- RB Mack Brown
- WR Stacy Coley
- DE Everson Griffen
- OT Mike Remmers
- G Jeremiah Sirles
- QB Kyle Sloter
The big news is, obviously, Everson Griffen being out. He tested the foot injury in pregame warmups, but he is out for this one. Brian Robison will get the start across from Danielle Hunter in his place.
Remmers being out means that Rashod Hill will be getting his first NFL start today, as he’ll plug into the right tackle spot. Nick Easton is back and will take his starting spot at left guard, with Danny Isidora serving as the primary backup. And yes, Teddy Bridgewater is the team’s backup quarterback today in his return from his devastating knee injury he suffered fifteen months ago. That’s pretty awesome, I don’t care who you are.
And now, we move on to the home team.
Washington Redskins
- DL Tony Bergstrom
- DL Matt Ioannadis
- G Arie Kouandjio
- S Montae Nicholson
- TE Niles Paul
- WR Brian Quick
- TE Jordan Reed
The Redskins are really, really banged up, but it appears as though star left tackle Trent Williams is going to give it a go today despite a pretty significant knee injury. (I guess the Redskins feel that anything is preferable to putting T.J. Clemmings out there again unless they have to.)
That’s a look at the inactive list for both squads going into this afternoon’s game, ladies and gentlemen. The Open Thread for the first quarter will be up and running at about 11:00 AM Central time.
