Merry Monday, everyone!
Well, it’s been a few days since our win, but I’m still enjoying it. The week’s games went well for the Vikes, and last night’s game was certainly a nice little cherry on top.
I haven’t posted since our win, and I’ve had a lot going on, so I’ll do a quick recap from what I can quickly recall from the game. Keenum had a great game, and so did Adam Thielen (again). The offense was rolling in the first half, and the defense held the Lions to 3 points in the first half (I give the touchdown at the end of the half to Corrente and the rest of the reffing crew), and the game seemed well-at-hand as the teams headed to the half. The second half wasn’t quite so easy, but the team managed to put the game away toward the end.
I took off and went up north to do some deer hunting on Friday, buck tag in hand. I saw exactly zero bucks in two days. None. I did see three does, and probably over a dozen moose, including a very nice bull (I’ll be putting in for my moose tag next spring). So, no deer for me this year, but I did have a lot of fun. It’s getting late, so this may be brief.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted was here with The Thanksgiving Special Stock Market Report.
Ted also talked about the team’s mental toughness in overcoming some factors in the game that could have thrown the team off-track.
Eric looks at five game-changing plays from the Vikings’ latest win.
Zim-Tzu is a big game hunter, per Ted.
Chris shares some film-room analysis of Zimmer vs. McVay in the Vikings-Rams match up.
Chris wonders how Adam Thielen keeps getting so wide open.
Chris also looks at Keenum’s price tag, which keeps growing zeroes.
There’s a Black Friday sale on Vikings t-shirts at Web Community Tees, per Chris. There’s another sale over at Breaking T.
Chris updated the Vikings Playoff Picture, which looks better after yesterday.
Vikings news from other sources:
Lions players say they don’t feel Slay was offsides on the blocked kick toward the end of the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game, and that the touchdown return should have counted, per CBS Sports. I’m not sure which replay they’re watching. The wrong one, apparently.
From Vikings.com, NFL Media’s Gregg Rosenthal says Pat Shurmur should be offensive coordinator of the year (agreed), Coach Zimmer addressed the media on Friday, and there’s lots more to watch in the media vault.
From Captain Obvious ESPN, the Vikes’ special teams play needs to improve.
News from the rest of the league:
CBS Sports hands out Week 12 grades to all NFL teams, the Bears got an F-minus.
NFL.com has all the NFL week 12 scores and highlights.
We come to today’s media selection.
Well, I wasn’t here to play this on Friday (and I doubt many folks were around that day), so here we go!
