Merry Thirsty Thorsday, DN faithful!

We’ve survived most of another week, just a couple more days until Vikings football. This is a big game for the team as a win here puts them in good position to play at home in January & February.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

From Chris, no one expected Riley Reiff to be this much of an upgrade.

Saxyprince details why he believes in Teddy Bridgewater (I’m with him).

Chris takes a brief look at Vikings-Falcons history.

Last night, Chris was on Minnesota Sports Weekly, check it out.

J-Dog digs into the details about our next opponent.

Vikings news from other sources:

At, catch Coach Zimmer’s press conference from yesterday, watch the NFL Playbook crew discuss the Vikings-Falcons match up, and lots more in the media vault.

From ESPN, Everson Griffen & family revealed the name of their new baby boy.

News from around the rest of the NFL:

From, one day after the Giants HC announced the decision to replace Eli Manning at QB, the owner said that there are no guarantees that McAdoo’s job is safe.

Phillip Rivers calls Eli’s benching “pathetic”, per the Sporting news.

We come to today’s media selection.

I haven’t played this in a couple months. I love videos of funny drunk people, and this, in my opinion, is the funniest one I’ve ever seen. This guy rocks.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese
