ESPN apparently forgot who the Vikings’ quarterback is

Another picture fiasco, this time from a different network

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Pictured: Not Case Keenum. But don’t tell ESPN

Thanks to the folks from Reddit for pointing this one out.

Apparently all Minnesota Vikings’ quarterbacks look the same. At least, that’s what some of our leading sports networks have been led to believe.

We all remember last season when the graphics people from FOX needed a picture of Sam Bradford in a Vikings’ uniform and said to themselves, “I know! Let’s slap Sam Bradford’s head on Teddy Bridgewater’s body! Who will be able to tell the difference?” This time around, we got something similar from the folks at ESPN.

After the Vikings tied their game with the Carolina Panthers at 7-7 on a touchdown pass from Case Keenum to Kyle Rudolph, here’s how ESPN let everyone know.

Now, the tight end in the picture is indeed Kyle Rudolph. You know, the guy whose jersey says “Rudolph” on the back. The quarterback he’s celebrating in the picture with?

Yeah. . .not Case Keenum.

That is, in fact, Sam Bradford, who has not thrown a touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph. . .or anybody else. . .since Week 1 of this season. It would appear that the folks from ESPN went into the vault to find a picture to reflect the touchdown pass, and managed to get it half right.

I suppose it could be worse. They could have gone with a picture of Kyle Rudolph and Teddy Bridgewater. Then everyone would have been really confused.

It’s a minor thing, admittedly, but one that is probably good for a chuckle. After reading social media in the aftermath of today’s loss, there are plenty of people that could use one of those.
