Daily Norseman joins the BS Show with Bob Sansevere

Eric Thompson joined the longtime Twin Cities media personality to talk Vikings and current events.

Bob Sansevere has been a staple of the Twin Cities sports and media landscape for the better part of the past 30 years. He still writes columns for the Pioneer Press and was a member of the famous KQRS Morning Show for 27 years. He has won numerous awards, contributed to countless stories, and authored a popular Minnesota sports book.

But today, he had to settle for me as a guest.

I joined Sansevere in studio on his BS Show Tuesday to continue a conversation we had started on Twitter earlier that morning. After I mentioned how Mike Zimmer’s Monday press conference would make for an excellent Zim Tzu from Ted (and it did), Sansevere claimed that Zimmer’s fireworks with the media were amateurish compared to the classic rants of former Vikings Head Coach Jerry Burns. I was still in my formative years as a Vikings fan when Burns was around, but he’s still impossible to forget. So Bob decided to invite me on his show to talk about it.

On the show, we were joined by Jeff O’Brien, Greg Freeman, and Dan Gerl as we listened to Burns’ classic rant from 1989. That got us reminiscing about the Vikings teams of the past and which players deserved to be in the Ring of Honor and/or Hall of Fame.

The BS Show covers just about everything, so after our Vikings discussion we moved onto some of the big talking points in the current sports news along with a bit of political talk toward the end. (You may notice a little less of me during the latter segment—not exactly my area of expertise.)
