Xavier Rhodes Cleared To Practice, Kyle Rudolph Still Out

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings had a long list of players who did not practice on Wednesday. Fortunately for us, that list has gotten one name shorter. Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reports that cornerback Xavier Rhodes has been cleared to practice on Thursday which is good sign that he will be ready to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bangles.

While the Rhodes being closed at U.S. Bank Stadium is a good thing, there are still a lot of players who are not cleared to practice.

Tight end Kyle Rudolph and left tackle Riley Reiff both have ankle injuries, cornerback Mackensie Alexander has a chest injury and tight end Blake Bell has a shoulder injury.

Because the Vikings are down two tight ends, they brought in Sam Cotton and Steve Donatell, both free agents, were brought in to workout this week. It is unclear if Cotton and Donatell will sign with the Vikings, but David Morgan and Kyle Carter have been elevated from practice squad in case.
