it’s a lot easier to talk to Green Bay fans when the Vikings have already clinched the division and the Packers have already been eliminated, isn’t it?
While that may be true, there are actually some decent fans of the enemy out there. One group of them is the guys on the brilliantly named Pack to the Future podcast. They have had me on as a guest several times in the past, but this is definitely the most lopsided both sides have felt in favor of the Vikings.
Brian Fonfara started our conversation by offering a half-hearted congratulations to me before we jumped into the quarterback conversation. We started by theorizing how close the division race might be if Rodgers was still around. I walked through the goosebump-inducing moment of Teddy Bridgewater’s return on Sunday at US Bank Stadium while acknowledging it’s Case Keenum’s job down the stretch. From there we discussed the Vikings playoff scenarios and how the rest of the NFC field might shake out if Minnesota locks up the #2 seed.
Finally, we previewed the game in Lambeau on Saturday night. We both thought the cold weather could play a factor, but also agreed that Dom Capers’ defense and Brett Hundley’s home performances this year would likely lead to a Vikings victory.
Click here to listen to the podcast. My segment starts just after the 30-minute mark. Thanks again to the PTTF guys for having me on—they are easily some of the most knowledgeable and tolerable Packers fans around.
