Wednesday Open Thread: December 27, 2017

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

Hey, sorry this is a little late, life got in the way a bit this morning.

Okay, I suppose we should go over Saturday’s game a bit. The defense, as expected, was excellent. The Packers could do very little, and when they did do something, the Vikings shut it down before it hurt. Harrison Smith stopped one drive near the goal line with an interception, and the defense shut down another with a 4th down stop. Other than that, the Packers offense didn’t have much success against this defense, it was fun to watch.

The offense was not good, running or passing, other than a nice evening put together by Stefon Diggs. Even with the weather being a factor, you would expect the offense to perform better against a poor defense. Let’s hope they look better than that at home on Sunday.

The team signed long snapper Jeff Overbaugh, and Easton was placed on IR. Bummer, I was hoping to see Jared Allen come out of retirement for a few weeks.

MarkSP18 has a Christmas Mock Draft for you, I hope he can find us a long snapper of the future in the later rounds. Five or six would be a good place to look, great rounds to find a long snapper (or a kicker or punter, if you need one).
