Sorry this is a bit late, long story

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Sorry this is a bit late, I drove through a blizzard and didn’t get to Fergus Falls until about 1 am, and I was tired, so I went to bed. Now I’m up, getting ready to head to Minneapolis. I intended on driving to Minneapolis yesterday, but I did not plan on driving 20-30 mph for several hours. Oh well, I’m alive. I don’t know why so many people drive in the ditch, they must think the traction is better, there sure were lots of them stuck there. I hope everyone is alright, there were a couple rollovers.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Eric looks at 5 game-changing plays from the Vikings-Falcons game.

Ted and Di posted Roughing the Podcast, Episode 40: Running the Gauntlet.

Wludford takes a look at this year’s version of Case Keenum, and whether it’ll be a lasting version.

Vikings news from other sources:

From ESPN, the Vikings are tuning out the hype as they focus on the goal of locking up home field advantage throughout the playoffs (and the Super Bowl).

At Vikings.com, see Harrison Smith as he hosts his annual Big Brothers-Big Sisters event at Winter Park, catch Coach Zimmer’s press conference from yesterday, and lots more to browse through in the media vault.

News from around the rest of the league:

The Steelers Ryan Shazier has been hospitalized with a spinal contusion he suffered in last night’s win against the Bengals.

From SB Nation, Vontaze Burfict got a taste of his own medicine in last night’s game. JuJu Smith-Schuster leveled Burfict with a vicious block in the 4th quarter.

We come to today’s media selection.

Seems like a good day for our old pal Frankie McDonald to break down today’s weather forecast.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
