Vikings Invade England, Learn English

Three members of the Minnesota Vikings went to the United Kingdom this past week to promote next season’s game.

UPDATE: A couple of commenters have mentioned that this is more of a lip reading exercise than an “understanding” exercise. In that context, it makes a heck of a lot more sense.

Props to the guys over at The Viking Age for grabbing this one first.

In order to hype their game against the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham next season, three members of the Minnesota Vikings made their way across the pond this week to do some media work in the United Kingdom. The three players that were chosen to represent the purple were linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks, along with safety Harrison Smith.

One of their stops was to be a part of a British sports program called Give Me Sport. A video of one of the segments they did, called “Say What,” was released to the internet on video. While I don’t know all of the particulars of this particular game or segment or what have you, it appears to consist of one British guy (presumably the host) saying regular British things with his British accent, and the crazy Americans attempting to figure out what exactly he was saying.

Hilarity ensues below.

To his credit, Kendricks actually appears to be pretty good at this game. Barr and Smith, on the other hand. . .well, not so much, no.

The Vikings will serve as the road team for their game against the Browns in 2017. Their game against the Browns at Twickenham Stadium will take place in Week 8 or 9 of next season (the league hasn’t decided yet), which means it will take place on either 22 October or 29 October.
