Happy Monday, everyone!
We survived another weekend, & here we are. The second-best day of the work week, IMO. Well, there was some activity over the weekend, the Vikings had a couple guys sign elsewhere & some rumors floated around. I’m sure we’ll discuss it all at length, have at it.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted shared the report that Captain Munnerlyn and Charles Johnson have signed with Carolina.
Sharrif Floyd’s contract is now guaranteed for 2017, per Chris.
The Daily Norseman was on Steve’s Sports Saturday.
Chris shared the news that Cordarrelle Patterson wants to come back to Minnesota.
Ted shared Lacy, Peterson, & Patterson updates.
Chris says that Rick Spielman is the greatest....and also the worst.
According to Riki Ellison, the Vikings have toxic leadership. Honestly, this seems much ado about nothing, but it’s there, so I’m sure there’ll be speculation.
Chris still has your 2017 Vikings free agency tracker up & running.
Vikings news from other sources:
From ESPN, Eddie Lacy says his visit with the Vikings was ‘pretty cool’.
From Matt Vensel at the Strib, Adrian Peterson visited the Seahawks yesterday. There is actually some sort of unwritten rule that every former Viking must at least visit Seattle, and I think 3 out of every 4 has to sign. Something like that.
From Vikings.com, Lindsey Young has a prospect profile on LSU RB Leonard Fournette.
Around the rest of the league:
From Fox Sports, the Lions reached agreement on a 3 year deal with T.J. Lang.
ESPN has the latest signings and reactions from around the league.
We come to today’s media selection.
This is one of my favorite singers, Don Williams, & my favorite song of his.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the menudo.
