Merry Tuesday, y’all!
We’re one more day into free agency, and there’s not much new to report. Honestly, I wouldn’t expect a lot more, maybe a couple more lower to mid-level signings to add depth or competition. We’ve actually been more busy than most years, so I’m guessing all the cool fireworks were already used up. We may still see a sparkler or a snake, you never know.
That made me think of this
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted shared his thoughts on the Vikings’ free agency moves so far.
Chris is keeping a free agency tracker where you can stay updated.
Vikings news from other sources:
Adrian Peterson left Seattle without a deal, per CBS Sports.
From PFT, Datone Jones will be visiting the Vikings.
Over at the Strib, Andrew Krammer breaks down the contracts for the Vikings’ two newest tackles.
With the Captain gone, the Vikings are looking at defensive backs, per ESPN.
From Vikings.com:
Spielman and the Vikings took in the Minnesota Gophers pro day. Leidner for QB! (just kidding, Supa)
Chad Greenway, whom I pretty much respect more than any football player alive, with the possible exception of Alan Page, said Coach Zimmer is ‘the right coach for this football team’.
Wobby opened the Monday Morning Mailbag, and did an early free agency evaluation.
Around the rest of the NFL:
Ezekiel Elliot is being probed by the NFL (that doesn’t sound pleasant) after being caught on video pulling down a woman’s top.
The Eagles released quarterback Chase Daniel, per NFL.com. I’m guessing after signing Nick Foles, they didn’t need another high priced backup QB behind their HOF bound starter.
We come to today’s media selection.
Many thanks to fatfreezeface for the suggestion & the link to today’s media selection.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the menudo.
