This was one of the longest free agency visits that Vikings Twitter has seen in a very long time.
#Murraywatch lasted for an entire day. It was rumored by many across Twitter that the Vikings might have simply locked free agent running back Latavius Murray into Winter Park to make sure he couldn’t escape before signing a contract with us.
In fact, Ted made a great personal sacrifice in pursuit of the Murray scoop.
I'm out #Vikings Twitter. Phone is dying and I need to work in the morning. I stayed up past midnight for Latavius Murray.

So close Ted! So close....
The Vikings have signed former Raiders RB Latavius Murray.

40 minutes after Ted realized he wasn’t Arif, the Vikings announced they had signed Murray to a contract.
2016 saw Murray in a timeshare in the Raiders’ backfield. He played in 14 games and started 12, rushing 195 times for 788 yards (4.0 YPC) and 12 touchdowns and catching 33 passes on 43 targets for 264 yards. Murray will join fourth-year running back Jerick McKinnon in Minnesota’s backfield, and with a stuffed draft that the Vikings will almost certainly dip into for another young back, means that a certain door is closed.
With Latavius Murray signing in Minnesota, Adrian Peterson officially will be moving on from Vikings.

And now, Oakland has a RB opening....
As for Murray’s contract, details on the length of the deal have begun to leak, and they further support the idea that the Vikings will be finding their running back of the future during this year’s draft.
Latavius Murray's deal with Minnesota is for three years, but can be voided after one season. Possible shot at free agency again in 2018.

At the time of posting, there is nothing known about the cost, but it’s likely to see just one year’s worth of guarantees. This story will be updated when further information becomes available.
Welcome to Minnesota, Latavius Murray! He can be found on Twitter at @LataviusM.
