Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Ahhh, I love spring. It’s warming up, the birds are starting to chirp again, baseball is ready to begin, and the fish are getting ready to start biting. I’m ready to say adios to winter for the year, aren’t you? I know, I know, I’m well aware that in this part of the country, we could very easily get another foot or two of snow. Don’t be bugging me with your reality, I’m just fine in my own little happy world.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
MarkSP18 brought you a Vikings Mock Draft: Free Agency Day 12 Plan.
Chris told us about Gerald Hodges being interested in a return to Minnesota. No word from Winter Park on whether the feeling is mutual, maybe he should send flowers.
Vikings news from other sources:
Sharrif Floyd is one of many Vikings on a “prove it” contract, with only one year remaining, per Vensel at the Strib.
Cris Carter says Adrian Peterson reached his expiration date with the Vikings, per CBS Sports. The Vikings front office to start checking for those dates on these players when they first draft them so they can know when to trade them, it must be stamped on their foot or something. Maybe Cris can tell the staff where to find it.
Latavius Murray explains why he chose to sign with Minnesota, from fanragsports.com.
From Vikings.com:
Nate Burleson on the NFLN calls Murray a home-run hitter.
Wobby sat down with our newest running back.
Craig Peters breaks down all the NFC North free agency activity.
News from around the rest of the league:
Kevin Seifert at ESPN breaks down why he thinks Kaepernick isn’t signed.
Josh McCown signed a one-year, six million dollar deal with the Jets, per NFL.com.
We come to today’s media selection.
I worked a bit late last night, & had to find some tunes with a little zip to listen to on my way home, and I ran across this awesome tune from back in the day. Crank it up & enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the menudo.
