Hump Daaaayyyyyy!

NFL: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

It’s the peak of the week, we can coast to the weekend from here. Hey, sorry I didn’t get a second thread up yesterday, I didn’t get away from work long enough to do much of anything.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Wludford looks at how Latavius Murray fits the Vikings offense.

Chris shared this story about Mike Zimmer responding to Riki Ellison’s comments about the Vikings. Not surprisingly, Riki didn’t answer and didn’t call back. I don’t like that guy.

U.S. Bank Stadium has been nominated for sports facility of the year, per Chris.

Vikings news from other sources:

Mike Zimmer talks about the new team additions, Floyd’s health, and replacing Munnerlyn, from Matt Vensel at the Strib.

Matthew Coller at 1500ESPN thinks the Vikings should consider Marquess Wilson, a free agent WR who played his first four years with Chicago.

From ESPN, Mike Zimmer says the Vikes could add one or two wide receivers. Also, with Patterson gone, the team will need a new kick returner.

From Vikings.com:

Coach Zimmer likes Latavius Murray’s versatility.

Adam Thielen says the Vikings have unfinished business on the field.

Wobby discusses the impact of the free agent departures when he opens his pick 6 mailbag.

Around the rest of the NFL:

The sporting news takes a look at the Tony Romo saga that continues in Dallas.

From NFL.com, the Dolphins gave Kiko Alonso a 3-year, $25 million extension.

Cam Newton is going to have surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff, and will miss OTAs, per ESPN.

Other sports news of note.

The Wild shook off the funk they were in and beat the Sharks last night, 3-2. It’s always good to get that slump out of the way before the playoffs.

We come to today’s media selection.

Hey, that STP sounded good yesterday, let’s play one more.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the menudo.
