‘Tis mock draft season

NFL: NFC Wild Card-Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Monday, everyone!

There isn’t a ton of new NFL news out there, but we can look ahead as we eagerly await the draft. What do you think will happen this year? Will day one go by with no Vikings activity? I don’t know, it’ll be interesting to see if anyone on their board falls to a spot at the end of the first where Rick & Co. decide he’s worth a move-up.

Around the DN since our last open thread(s):

Ted got bored on Friday, and posted a mock draft (it’s actually a pretty good draft).

The Vikings released DE Scott Crichton, per Eric.

Chris shared the story of Sharrif Floyd’s Instagram, which isn’t reassuring.

Chris looked at the Big Blue View’s seven round mock for Minnesota.

Wludford looks at Vikings draft prospect, Alvin Kamara.

Vikings news from other sources:

Matthew Coller at ESPN1500 has five pre-draft goals for the Vikings.

From Vikings.com, Eric Smith looks at prospect profile, TE O.J. Howard.

Around the rest of the NFL:

Adrian Peterson says he’s ‘in no rush’ to sign with a new team, per ESPN.

From Rana Cash at the Strib, Adrian Peterson disputes the report that he’s demanding $8 million/year.

We come to today’s media selection.

This isn’t generally the type of music you’ll find in one of my playlists, but you will find this one by 3 Doors Down.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the lengua.
