Merry Thirsty Thorsday, everyone.
Well, I’m REALLY happy to be home again with my family, I missed the hell out of my kiddo (and wife, of course). Today at 4:00 Eastern (3:00 American time) is when free agent signings can begin, so I’ll do my best to have a fresh thread up around then and I’ll try to be around to post any updates down in the comments. Also, a huge thanks to MarkSP18 for posting a second thread yesterday, now I almost feel bad for teasing him about us drafting another punter this year (nah, not really).
Around the DN since our last open thread.
Ted & Di posted Roughing the Podcast 22: We Feel Very Appreciated.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Andrew Krammer at the Strib, the Vikings placed a second round tender on Adam Thielen.
NFLN sees DeSean Jackson as a fit in Minnesota.
Here is Vikings.com’s 2017 free agency tracker.
The Vikings re-signed Jeremiah Sirles. I like this signing, Sirles is a versatile lineman, and filled in nicely last year at RT during our O-line injury-fest.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From NFL.com, the Dolphins are re-signing Kenny Stills to a 4-year, $32 million deal.
SI.com has all your latest free agency rumors, signings, cap cuts, & more.
Tony Romo will be released today, per ESPN.
We come to today’s media selection.
Alright boys & girls, it’s the start of free agency today, so ARE YOU READY?
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the menudo.
