They will be announcing picks in the second and third rounds.

A couple of years ago, the National Football League started having legendary players and other notable people announce some of the selections on Draft Weekend. This year will be no exception, and the Minnesota Vikings will have some luminaries to announce their first few picks in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The second round will see NFL legends from all 32 teams announcing selections, and the representative for the Minnesota Vikings will be none other than defensive tackle John Randle. Randle, of course, went into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 and spent the better part of his career with the Vikings.

For the third round, the people announcing the selections will be past recipients and team winners of the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. The Vikings’ representative for those selections will be safety Madieu Williams. Williams played for the Vikings from 2008 to 2010, and won the award following the 2010 season, after which he moved on to the San Francisco 49ers. (My earlier post mistakenly said that he won the award as a member of the Niners, and I was corrected.)

In addition, Round 6 of the draft will reportedly be youth-themed, with youth football players from Pop Warner, NFL FLAG, and local teams representing the various NFL clubs to announce the picks.
