Going into the third day of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings had three picks in the fourth round of the selection meeting. After going with Iowa defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson to get their day started, Rick Spielman decided to stay on the defensive side of the ball.
With the 120th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected linebacker Ben Gedeon out of the University of Michigan.
Gedeon projects to be more of a middle linebacker in the Vikings’ 4-3 defense, which means he may have an opportunity to slot in between Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks. He was also an outstanding special teamer for the Wolverines, as he played on coverage teams all four seasons he was in Ann Arbor.
After an offensive-heavy Day 2, it appears that defense might be the focus of the day for the final day of the draft for Minnesota.
The Vikings are on the board again next at pick #132 overall.
Welcome to Minnesota, Ben Gedeon!
