Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Man, I sure love getting home and getting out in the yard. I’m glad we have summer, the off-season would be unbearable otherwise.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the ESPN piece projecting the Vikings’ starting lineup.
Vikings news from other sources:
This is a really good article from 1500ESPN, Why Everyone Believes in Teddy Bridgewater. Thanks to kathy for the heads-up & fil for the link.
Here’s a cool story from ESPN. Brian Robison brought his Reel ‘Em In fishing tournament to Minnesota, and some fellow Vikings participated in the charity auction. Proceeds benefited Robson’s Reel ‘Em In Foundation.
Over at NFL.com, Bucky Brooks thinks Sam Bradford is poised to have a breakout year.
Matt Vensel at the Strib looks at how the Vikings will be allocating their cap space on offense this year.
Also from the Strib, the team signed another offensive lineman, as they signed a guard from rookie camp tryouts to a three-year contract.
From Vikings.com:
Wobby opened the Monday Morning Mailbag.
The Vikings have another on the NFL’s Top 100 List, as Xavier Rhodes came in 66th. I think he could be listed a little closer to the top, but they didn’t ask me.
News from the rest of the NFL:
Rolando McClain is in trouble with the law again, and he may be running out of chances with the NFL, from Yahoo Sports.
From NFL.com, Pete Carrol said the Seahawks are considering Kaepernick and Robert Griffen III as potential backup quarterbacks.
We come to today’s media selection.
Hey, it’s been a long time since we’ve had Vikings football, here are some 2016-2017 highlights.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese.
