It’s Thorsday!

JOHN RANDLE VIKINGS

Happy thirsty Thorsday, everyone!

We’ve survived most of another week, and are coasting to the weekend and all it has to offer......like fishing and yard work. I can’t wait!

Around the DN since our last open thread:

The team made a couple moves at the defensive tackle position, as they waived Toby Johnson and signed Will Sutton, per Chris.

Chris looks at whether 2017 could be the Vikings’ last training camp at Mankato. It sure seems like it is, I’m gonna make sure I get to it again this year.

Chris shared a report that Michael Floyd will be taking part in June mini-camps.

Vikings news from other sources:

More news is trickling out about AD’s contract with the Saints, and, as many of us suspected, it looks like there are lots of incentives built in, per ESPN.

From Vikings.com:

Nate Burleson said Teddy is his Viking to watch in 2017. I’m not counting Teddy out, either.

Architects used Viking heritage in designing the new practice facility.

The players will benefit from the new headquarters, per Eric Smith.

Lindsey Young tells how the new facility will benefit Eagan & the surrounding communities.

Also from Lindsey Young, Bradford, Murray, and Cook all made the NFLPA’s ‘Rising 50’ list.

Around the rest of the NFL:

Sports Illustrated talks about why NFL teams can’t let young QBs learn from the bench anymore.

Alex Smith is embracing his relationship with first-round pick Patrick Mahomes, per NFL.com. Reminds me of how classy Bledsoe was when Brady took his spot, good to see.

We come to today’s media selection.

Here’s a cool highlight video of Adam Thielen for you to watch.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese.
