Another day into the long, boring part of the NFL off-season. Thankfully we have baseball and fishing.

Dennis Green

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

It’s going to be fairly slow now until we have training camp & such things. Here’s a little synopsis of the next couple months of the off-season schedule from the Sporting News.

Early May: Rookie mini-camps begin league-wide

May 18-21: NFLPA Rookie Premiere

May 22-23: Spring League Meeting, Chicago

Late May to mid-June: OTA beginsa league-wide

July 15 (4:00 PM ET): Deadline for Franchise-tagged players to sign multi-year extensions. Following this deadline, a player can only sign the one-year Franchise tender.

Mid-July: Clubs are permitted to open preseason training camp for rookies and first-year players beginning seven days prior to the clubas earliest permissible mandatory reporting date for veteran players.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris takes a look at the future of the Vikings.

Chris has a tracker where you can keep up on the latest UDFA signgings.

Chris shared a bit of a blundered report from Peter King regarding Teddy Bridgewater. It looks like King confused Shariff’s and Teddy’s injuries, or something. Sigh.

The Vikings have decided to pick up Anthony Barr’s fifth-year option, but are not picking up Teddy Bridgewater’s (this year, anyway).

Eric has a fun piece on the NFL draftees and their journey to earning a spot on the roster.

The Vikings confirmed the signings of their undrafted free agents, per Chris.

Wludford takes a closer look at Dalvin Cook.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Fox6Now, the new stadium is having some issues. Not unexpected when you’re using newer techniques/technology, I suppose.

At, they have a roundup of the 2017 rookie free agents. Lindsey Young has 5 things to know about Danny Isidora, Craig Peters gives us 5 things to know about Ben Gideon. Eric Smith let us know that Everson Griffen made the NFL’s Top 100 list at #92.

Around the rest of the league:

After drafting a stable of running backs in the draft, the Packers cut RB Christine Michael, per

From ESPN, Jamaal Charles will be visiting the Broncos today.

We come to today’s media selection.

This is my son’s new favorite video, he found it on youtube somehow.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
