Merry Thorsday, everyone!
Another day of OTAs, more highlights to watch. Hey, at least we have SOMETHING football related to watch. I heard the O line looked good against garbage cans, except for Clemmings, who allowed 3 pressures to the 40 gallon Rubbermaid playing RE for the second string. I heard Sparano dug a hole and buried the garbage can’s lid in front of the team as a motivational tactic to improve the O line’s play, we’ll see if it helped.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The NFLPA advised Vikings rookies not to sign their contracts, from Chris.
Chris shared the Dead Tree Media draft review of Elijah Lee.
Vikings news from other sources:
Brian Murphy at the Pioneer Press has a couple of stories from OTAs.
From Vikings.com, Rick Spielman spoke with the media, there are highlights of day two of OTAs, and at the NFLN, they shared the latest news on Teddy Bridgewater.
Around the rest of the NFL:
The Browns, wanting to add to their bloated upper management hierarchy, added Ryan Grigson as their Senior Personnel Executive, per NFL.com. You’ll remember Grigson was the GM in Indianapolis when the Colts gave up a first round pick for first round bust, Trent Richardson, eventually leading to Richardson becoming a two-time first-round bust, which is rare, to say the least.
Other sports news of note:
The Twins, matching their season total for ALL OF LAST YEAR, completed their FOURTH series sweep. Behind a very strong outing by Berrios and another solid performance from the bullpen, the Twins held on to beat Baltimore 4-3. Berrios looked dominant at times, some of those curve balls were downright nasty.
We come to the media selection.
I know one thing that almost everyone can agree on. This is, by far, the best Super Bowl halftime show in history.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
