Merry Thorsday, everyone!
Another warm, sunny day here in Bismarck. I should be out on the water, there’s really no reason to work when it’s this nice out, IMO.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Arif posted Podcast Episode 181:The Opposite of Falling in Love.
Chris shared some Belated Thoughts on the Vikings’ 2017 Draft.
Chris shared the report that the Vikings are ‘highly interested’ in Michael Floyd. I love the terms they use to describe teams’ & players’ interest in each other, it’s like high school........ or Seinfeld. ‘Highly interested’, but no word on whether they’ve held hands or if they’re ‘hot & heavy’.
Chris shared some more updated info on Teddy’s contract. A 2018 year will toll onto his contract if he is still unable to perform as of the 6th regular season game. The decision not to pick up Teddy’s fifth-year option now makes much more sense.
Wludford takes a closer look at how the Vikings are rebuilding the offensive line.
Vikings news from other sources:
Matt Vensel looks at a history of results when teams move up for a running back.
From ESPN, here’s the AD interview everyone’s talking about.
From Vikings.com, Spielman and the 2017 draft picks joined Paul Allen on Kfan, and the Vikings received a Clio Award, per Lindsey Young. Eric Smith has 5 things to know about Bucky Hodges. On Lunchbreak, Craig Peters noted that Dalvin Cook leads the Vikings picks in Brandt’s ‘Hot 150’. Also from Lindsey Young, she has 5 things to know about Stacy Coley, and she says that Datone Jones has a lot more to give.
Around the rest of the NFL:
Other sports news of note:
The Twins remain hot. Buxton is coming around, they’re getting offense from all over the lineup, and the bullpen continues to pitch well. Hey, let’s enjoy it while we have it, Twins over the As yesterday, 7-4.
We come to today’s media selection.
I like southern rock, & these guys do it just about as good as it gets.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
