Not a lot of news this time of year, but we’ll share anything we find!

Jake Reed

Happy thirsty Thorsday, fellow Vikings fans!

We’re almost to another weekend. It’s the McQuades softball tournament in Bismarck, so since I don’t think I’m playing in it this year, I think I’ll do my best to avoid any contact with town and the intoxicated crowds. Sounds like a great weekend to catch up on some fishing.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Ted shared his top five Randy Moss moments in a Vikings uniform.

Chris takes a look at number 78 in Minnesota Vikings By The Numbers.

Mike Zimmer is still listed high in head coach power rankings.

Vikings news from other sources: tells folks why they should root for the Minnesota Vikings.

Chris Doleman is one of seven hall-of-famers whod got to meet Pope Francis.

From, Lindsey Young takes a look at Danielle Hunter’s confidence and his rising expectations, and Eric Smith looks at Zimmer’s evaluation of the revamped offensive line.

Around the rest of the NFL:

From the Star Tribune, Norv Turner says he’s open to returning to coaching. has the league’s most and least balanced offensive play callers.

The Packers’ Letroy Guion is in trouble.....again. This time, our old pal was arrested in Hawaii for intoxicated driving.

We come to our media selection.

Since we’ve been seeing a lot of Randy Moss in the news the past couple days, let’s watch one of his highlight films. Man, I used to LOVE watching this guy play the game.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the hog maws
