Last week, the Kansas City Chiefs put a bit of a shock into the football world when they fired their General Manager, John Dorsey. It seems like a strange time of the year for a team to fire their GM, but that’s what the Chiefs did, so now they’re looking for a replacement.
That replacement will not be current Minnesota Vikings’ assistant to the General Manager George Paton, although the Chiefs were apparently interested in bringing him in for an interview.
#Chiefs requested to interview Vikings assistant GM George Paton for their GM job, but for a variety of reasons he'll stay put, sources say.

Over the past few years, there have been a lot of teams interested in potentially hiring Paton for a front office position, Still, he remains in Minnesota, where he has been since joining the team in 2002, the same year as General Manager Rick Spielman.
I believe that Paton has actually interviewed for General Manager positions with several NFL teams, but he’s turned down his fair share of interviews as well. I’m not sure if he’s waiting for some sort of “dream job” to come along or if he just really, really likes Minnesota or what the hold-up is.
But, there will not be a shake-up in the Minnesota front office in the near future, it would appear. Or, at least, until after the 2017 regular season has come and gone.
