I can smell the long weekend, it’s getting closer.....

Jerry Burns

Happy Thorsday, everyone!

I suppose everyone’s pretty much checked out of work already, mentally at least.

Hey, a heads-up for early next week, keep an eye out in the fanposts for the daily thread, justrob has been kind enough to cover them for me while I’m off the grid for the weekend. I’ll get somewhere to move it up to the front page at some point, but I’m not sure if it’ll be early or not. Cell service is spotty at best where I’ll be, but I’ll do what I can.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Number 71 is up on Minnesota Vikings By The Numbers.

Ted & Di posted Roughing the Podcast 24: We Drank Too Much Kombucha, Too.

Chris shared the PFF report that the Vikings have the 12th-best overall roster in the NFL.

The Vikings offensive line got surprisingly high numbers from PFF.

Skol Girl looks at the Kombucha defense, and the potential fight with the NFL.

Vikings news from other sources:

Andrew Krammer at the Strib looks at the Vikings D line, and a key opening they need to fill.

From Vikings.com, Danielle Hunter’s willingness to learn contributed to his fast start, Jim Marshall has a huge advocate working to get him into the HOF, and Danielle Hunter was wired for sound.

Around the rest of the NFL:

Over at ESPN, they wonder how long A-a-ron Rodgers can keep playing at his current level.

We come to our media selection.

Kansas somehow came up in a convo yesterday, so here’s your selection for today.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the pickled pigs feet.
