Howdy, and happy happy Monday, everyone!
I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend. I know I did, it was absolutely beautiful here with highs in the 90s. Just perfect!
On a serious note, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in London. As you likely know, London was attacked by spineless cowards on Saturday. Senseless.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris had the latest Minnesota Vikings By The Numbers, where he looked at the first real battle at #97. He also posted #96, and topped the weekend off by looking at number 95.
Wludford takes a look at Jack Tocho, Vikings’ seventh round pick, who is going to be converted to safety.
From Chris, Danielle Hunter met Alan Page, and learned something cool. Page is one of few athletes that I can honestly say I look up to as a person, what a great man.
Luft Krigare takes another look at the reclamation project of Laquon Treadwell. I’m really looking forward to this kid breaking out this year.
The Vikings players broke stuff for a cause, per Chris. Sounds like fun, I’m always breaking stuff.
The Vikings and the United Way teamed up to do more great things in the community, this time they launched the “Character Playbook” initiative, per Chris.
The film room broke down Dalvin Cook.
Luft Krigare took a look at what’s coming in Vikings news for the first full week of June.
Wludford looks at whether Danny Isidora could be the RG of the future for the Vikes.
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com, in the film room, they take a close look at Bucky Hodges. I’m excited to see what this kid might do.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From ESPN, Drew Brees and the Saints marvel at Adrian Peterson as he showed his stuff.
We come to today’s media selection.
Hey, let’s let James Brown kick our week off, it’s been a while since he’s graced the DN with his presence.
We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
