Well isn’t this a sight for sore eyes?
June 5 is turning out to be a great day for Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer. For starters, it’s his 61st birthday today. And according to the Vikings’ official Twitter feed, he got a great present:

It appears that Zimmer’s time away from the team over the past couple weeks has been beneficial for his recovery. His most recent surgery to remove an oil bubble and insert a gas bubble into his right eye was the eighth procedure Zimmer has undergone. The eye was originally injured during a loss to the Chicago Bears on Halloween night of 2016.
There are still a lot of concerns for the Vikings as they move toward the 2017 season, but hopefully Zimmer’s return to the team means they won’t have to worry about the long-term health of their head coach going forward. Of course, Zimmer has thought that his eye problems were behind him before, so hopefully there are no further complications going forward.
All those in favor of thinking that this is outstanding news for not only Zimmer but for the team and franchise as a whole?
The eyes have it.
