Minnesota Vikings Sign Offensive Tackle Arturo Uzdavinis

The roster is now, officially, at 90.

Going into the first day of Training Camp in Mankato, the Minnesota Vikings had one spot open on the 90-man roster, and they officially filled that spot on Monday morning.

The team has announced that they have signed offensive tackle Arturo Uzdavinis to the roster.

Uzdavinis played his college football at Tulane, and went undrafted in 2016. The Vikings are already his fifth NFL stop.

  • He signed with the Houston Texans following the 2016 NFL Draft, and was released by the Texans on 29 August of 2016
  • Uzdavinis then signed with the Chicago Bears’ practice squad, and was on the squad until 1 November.
  • He then signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who had him on the practice squad for the rest of the season and signed him to a futures contract before releasing him in May.
  • Shortly after his release from Jacksonville, he signed with the Detroit Lions, who released him in June.

Gotta be honest. . .I don’t know a whole lot about Uzdavinis, the player. But I will say that his beard is freaking spectacular, if he’s still rocking the one that he has in the picture the Vikings used to announce his signing.

Welcome to Minnesota, Arturo!
