Eric on SD Sports Buzz with Nate Brown
Since I have already had radio appearances in Minnesota and North Dakota under my belt in the last 24 hours, I figured I should complete the tri-state trifecta and make an appearance over the airwaves in South Dakota.
Nate Brown of SD Sports Buzz (based out of Rapid City, SD) had me join him on his show Wednesday afternoon to go over some Vikings Training Camp talkers. We started with some big picture things I'll be looking for while I'm in Mankato, like some defensive position battles and whether the offensive can upgrade from "atrocious" to "average." Nate and I then discussed the voids left by South Dakota native Chad Greenway on defense and Adrian Peterson on offense, two players that were staples of the team for the past decade.
Speaking of running backs, we discussed who might have the edge in the backfield among Dalvin Cook, Latavius Murray, and Jerick McKinnon. We also briefly touched on their respective fantasy values.
No Vikings radio hit would be complete without some quarterback talk. Nate asked whether or not I was a Sam Bradford believer in 2017. (Short answer: I'm fairly optimistic.)
We wrapped up with the big news of the day, Everson Griffen's contract extension. Much how I talked about with Keith Brake in my Fargo guest spot, I explained why I think the contract was a good deal overall.
