It’s Thorsday, one more day to some Vikings football!

Happy thirsty Thorsday, everyone!

Hey, we’re only one more day away from some more Vikings football. We’re also only a month or two away from snowfall, but let’s not think about that right now. I need to get out & do some fishing this weekend. I also realized it’s been a few weeks since I’ve fired up the smoker, that’s going to change this weekend, too. Anyone else have some fun in the sun planned? I hope so, we’ll be butt deep in snow before we know it, enjoy it while you can.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Ted & Di posted Roughing the Podcast 26: The Sky Really Isn’t Falling. I hope they’re right, I’m pretty sure my homeowner policy doesn’t cover falling skies.

Saxyprince wonders what Teddy Bridgewater is thinking.

Chris is close to finishing off the 20s, as he looks at number 22 in Minnesota Vikings by the Numbers. I gotta agree with Chris here, Harrison is my current favorite Viking, but until he puts in some more years, gotta give the nod to Krause.

Chris shared Football Outsider’s look at the impact of Michael Floyd on the Minnesota Vikings.

Arif posted Norse Code Podcast 189: Buffalo’d.

Everyone’s focusing on the Vikings O line in their matchup against the Seahawks, per Wludford. This one will be a test, I’m definitely hoping to see some improvement.

Wludford also looked at potential salary cap casualties for the purple & gold.

Skelly10 wonders if the Vikings should sit their starters.

Vikings news from other sources:

At Vikings.com, Eric Smith tells us Sam Bradford welcomes the challenge of the Seahawks defense & the atmosphere. There is lots to see in the media vault, George Edwards talked with the media, as did Mike Priefer, also Sam Bradford, and Pat Shurmur chatted with Paul Allen.

From ESPN, Laquon Treadwell is working on his technique, and also working on staying healthy as he enters his second year.

Around the rest of the NFL:

Wyoming may send the number one draft pick to the podium next year, and ESPN looks at how he wound up in Wyoming.

From NFL.com, Laveon Bell still hasn’t shown up to camp, and the GM said it ‘would be benficial’ for him to be there. A bit of an understatement, in my opinion.

We come to today’s media selection.

Hey, we haven’t had any Robert Earl Keen in quite a while, let’s change that.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the Rocky Mountain Oysters.
