What Would You Do For A Vikings Championship?

New, comments

When it comes to this, some are. . .”more dedicated”. . .than others

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings long to see their team win a championship, and there’s no fan base in all of professional sports that deserves to see their team win more. As we all know, levels of fandom are different for each individual fan, but a recent study shows that fans of the purple might be willing to do some crazy things in order to get their team to the promised land.

Over at We Are Fanatics, they asked fans of all of the NFL teams if they would be willing to do certain things in order to guarantee a Super Bowl victory for the Vikings. Some of them are way, way out there, but a not-insignificant percentage of our fans seem to be on board with a lot of them. For example:

  • 52.78% of the Vikings fans surveyed would be willing to put on 100 pounds. . .that’s one hundred pounds. . .of body weight if it meant the Vikings winning a championship. That’s a whole lot of weight, and a whole lot of associated health conditions. . .not to mention having to buy all new clothes and that sort of thing.
  • 63.89% of the Vikings fans surveyed would be willing to give up a paycheck. As I do sort of enjoy paying my bills on time and silly things of that nature, I probably wouldn’t be down with this, either.
  • 30.56% of the Vikings fans that took part in this survey would be willing to go without bathing for an entire year. Not a day or two, but one full calendar year. Ignoring the fact that you’d alienate everyone around you and probably make yourself sick, I’m not sure why anyone would think this is a good idea.

You can check out some of the other questions that were posed. It’s not a terribly scientific study or anything. . .at least, I don’t think it is. . .but it’s food for thought in any case.

What’s the craziest thing you would do if it meant that the Vikings would win the Super Bowl?
