We’re just a day away from the most important of the three preseason contests, as we will see the Minnesota Vikings return to U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time since New Year’s Day as they host the San Francisco 49ers.
If you want to follow along with all of the action from the NFL’s best stadium, we have all of the information for you right here.
Television Info
This game is going to be the featured Game of the Week on NBC, which is KARE-11 in the Twin Cities area. Be sure to check your local listings to find the local NBC affiliate in your area. (Really, you should know what the NBC affiliate in your area is anyway, but if you don’t, that’s where you’ll find it.) Kickoff time for this one will happen at 7:00 PM Central time on Sunday, and your announcers will be Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth.
Radio Info
If, for some reason, you’re not near a TV, you can get the call from Paul Allen and Pete Bercich on the Vikings Radio Network. No simulcast this week, what with it being an NBC game and everything. Check your local affiliate to see if they’ll be airing this week’s contest.
If you’re going to be using satellite radio, you can hear the Vikings’ radio feed on SiriusXM NFL Radio, channel 88, on both the Sirius and XM sides of things. If you’re using the SiriusXM Online App, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 819.
Referee Info
According to the folks at Football Zebras, the officiating crew for Sunday night’s contest will be headed up by Ron Torbert. Torbert has not been involved with a Vikings’ game since 2015, when he was the head referee for the Vikings’ 21-18 overtime victory over the St. Louis Rams at TCF Bank Stadium.
Weather Info
The game will be inside, obviously, and it doesn’t appear that the weather will be terribly conducive to having the big doors open, either. Weather Underground is calling for a 70% chance of thunderstorms in the hours leading up to kickoff, so the doors will likely remain closed.
Streaming Info
There are a couple of different options for streaming the game online via subscription, notably NFL Game Pass and Fubo.tv. (Thanks to the folks from The Viking Age for bringing the latter to my attention.)
Otherwise, the game is on NBC, for crying out loud. You have NBC. (Unless you’re overseas somewhere, in which case see the links above.)
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.
That should be all of the information you need to be able to track all of the action from Minneapolis for the third preseason contest between the Vikings and the 49ers. These two teams have the preseason stage to themselves on Sunday night. . .here’s hoping for a good showing and no injuries for either side.
