We’re about an hour away from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium for the “all-important” third preseason game between the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers. The Vikings have released a list of four players that are not going to be playing this evening, and they are as follows:
- WR Moritz Böhringer
- DE Brian Robison
- TE Kyle Rudolph
- CB Terrell Sinkfield
Rudolph is the only starter that won’t be seeing any action this evening, given that Robison is now considered to be a backup. Böhringer. . .well, he’s probably not making the team anyway, and while Sinkfield has been alright so far this preseason, he’s still considered a longshot, too.
There will be several Vikings making their preseason debuts tonight. Offensive tackle Riley Reiff, the big money acquisition this offseason, will get the start at left tackle, while running back Latavius Murray and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell will be seeing their first in-game action of the preseason.
Rookie linebacker Ben Gedeon will be starting at weakside linebacker for the second game in a row, while David Morgan is being listed as the starter at tight end in Rudolph’s place.
We’ll have the Open Thread for this one up about half an hour before kickoff, ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully you’ll all be joining us this evening!
