Happy thirsty Thorsday, everyone!

Hey, there’s real live NFL football to watch tonight! The Cardinals and Cowboys take place in this unofficial preseason annual tradition. Hey, it’s something. I just hope no one gets hurt. Doesn’t it seem odd that the NFL Hall of Fame is in the same state as the Browns?

Around the DN since our last open thread:

With the changes to the rules regarding roster cut-downs, the coaching staff will have more time to evaluate players. Wludford asks whether this will help more new guys make the final 53.

Eric has a training camp primer for ya'.

Chris is down to number 36 in Minnesota Vikings by the Numbers.

Kyle Rudolph announced the inaugural Women's Football Clinic, Chris has all the details.

Rick Spielman hopes to have a very tough choice to make regarding the team's QB position, per Chris.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com, Pat Shurmur addressed the media yesterday, there are highlights from yesterday’s training camp, an interview with Matt Birk, and lots of other videos to watch in the media vault.

Fox Sports looks at the Vikings’ kicker competition, and who might emerge as the Vikings’ starter for the kickoff of the 2017 season.

News from around the rest of the league:

From NFL.com, the injury bug bit hard yesterday, especially in Houston and Los Angeles.

Jon Gruden doesn’t see a return to coaching in his near future, per NFL.com. That’s too bad, I like Gruden as a coach, I hope he gives it another shot at some point.

I can’t believe it’s happening already, but we’ll have live NFL football to watch tonight, as The Cowboys and Cardinals square off in Canton, Ohio at 7:00 pm in the annual Hall Of Fame game, per AL.com.

We come to our media selection.

AC/DC is always a good idea, so here’s a song to kick off the unofficial start of the preseason.

We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion

-No feeding of the trolls

-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must

-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer

-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the liver & onions.
