Well, ladies and gentlemen, in less than 24 hours we will be witnessing the final tune-up for the Minnesota Vikings as they prepare for the 2017 regular season. They’ll be welcoming their old friend Jay Cutler. . .yep, he’s a Dolphin now. . .to U.S. Bank Stadium as they host the Miami Dolphins in the preseason finale.

So, how can you keep track of all the action?

Television Info

Since this is not a nationally featured game, this one will be back on KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities area, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM Central. If you’re not in the Twin Cities area, here are some of the affiliates around the Upper Midwest that will be carrying the game as well.

  • WDIO (ABC/10-13 - Duluth)
  • KTTC (CW/10.2 - Rochester MN)
  • KEYC (FOX/12.2 - Mankato MN)
  • KVRR (FOX/15 - Fargo ND)
  • KSFY (ABC/13 - Sioux Falls SD)
  • KGAN (CBS/2 - Cedar Rapids IA)
  • KCCI (MeTV/8.2 - Des Moines IA)
  • KPTH (FOX/44 - Sioux City IA)
  • KGCW (CW/26 - Quad Cities)
  • WKBT (CBS/8 - La Crosse WI)
  • KETV (ABC/7 - Omaha)

If you’ve taken your talents to South Beach. . .or, you know, somewhere near there. . .here are some Dolphins’ affiliates that will be showing the game, with the play-by-play coming from Dick Stockton, Nat Moore, and Bob Griese.

  • WFOR (CBS/4 - Miami)
  • WPEC (CBS/12 - West Palm Beach)
  • WBBH (NBC/2 - Fort Myers)
  • WFTV (ABC/9 - Orlando)

If you miss the live broadcast, you can catch the replay on the NFL Network at 9:00 AM Central on Friday, 1 September. It looks like that’s the only time it will be replayed, but that’s what DVRs are for. Or VCRs, you know, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Radio Info

As is the case with most Vikings’ preseason contests, the play-by-play for the Vikings’ side on both television and radio will be handled by the team of Paul Allen and Pete Bercich. You’ll be able to hear them on the Vikings Radio Network. That link goes to a list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates across the Upper Midwest. See if yours will be carrying the game.

If you’re using satellite radio, you’ll be able to find this one on XM Channel 232 or Sirius Channel 119. If you’re using the SiriusXM Online App, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 819.

Referee Info

According to the fine folks from Football Zebras, the officiating crew for Thursday night’s contest will be headed by Pete Morelli. Hopefully this means he won’t get the opportunity to screw the Vikings in the regular season, but I’m assuming that’s too much to hope for.

Weather Info

Game’s indoors, folks, but according to Weather Underground, it should be a perfect night to have the big doors open. It will be sunny all day in the Twin Cities with temperatures in the low 70s and winds coming out of the southeast at 8 to 10 miles per hour.

Streaming Info

From everything I’ve seen, the only legal way to stream these games is by a means such as NFL Game Pass or Fubo.tv.

As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own. And feel free to not blame us for any ill effects your computer or device might suffer as a result.

That should be all of the information you need to be able to track all of the action from Minneapolis for the final preseason contest of the year between the Vikings and the Dolphins. Here’s hoping for no injuries for either side, and we hope you’ll join us here for all the excitement.
