Minnesota Vikings Waive Tre Roberson

The converted quarterback just couldn’t stick at corner

The roster moves continue to come in for the Minnesota Vikings, and this move will affect the team’s secondary.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the team will be waiving cornerback Tre Roberson.

Roberson was a quarterback at Indiana State, but made the switch to cornerback prior to the 2016 NFL Draft. He went undrafted, and the Vikings signed him as a free agent. He was on and off the practice squad several times in 2016, but was offered a futures contract by the team. Despite his size and athletic ability, he just couldn’t make it work at corner at the next level, at least with the Vikings.
