Minnesota Vikings Waive Chunky Clements

And the best name on the team is officially out

NCAA Football: Illinois at Wisconsin Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings have let go of another defensive lineman, and along with that they’ve lost what might have been the best name on the team.

According to Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Vikings have released defensive tackle Chunky Clements.

Clements was a late addition to the Vikings having signed just a few days before the start of Training Camp. He played his college ball at Illinois, and went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. Like a lot of players, Clements would have had a long road to hoe in order to make a defensive line as deep as Minnesota’s, and it appears that he might have to find his NFL future elsewhere.

We keep tracking all of the releases and player waivings that the Vikings are doing before the 3:00 PM Central time deadline on Saturday.
