Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings: Final Injury Reports

One injury list is significantly longer than the other

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Buffalo Bills Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

It’s Friday, and in the National Football League that means Injury Report day. Both the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions have released their final injury reports for this Sunday’s contest at U.S. Bank Stadium, and I’ve gotta tell you. . .one of these injury reports is significantly longer than the other one. Unlike what we saw for most of last season, however, the longer list does not belong to the Vikings.

We’ll start with the visitors, as we always do, and you’ll see what I mean.

Detroit Lions Injury Report

Player Position Injury Wednesday Thursday Friday Sunday Status

Glover Quin CB Knee LP FP FP ------
Anthony Zettel DE Knee LP FP FP ------

Yes, that’s 14 names on the injury report for the Lions, with two players already having been declared out and six more being deemed as “questionable,” meaning that they have a 50/50 chance to play on Sunday. The big ones on the “questionable” list are obviously Ziggy Ansah and Jarrad Davis. Ansah has dealt with a lot of injuries over the past couple of seasons, but has been a force when he’s been on the field. Davis has already taken over as the quarterback of the Detroit defense as a rookie, so his absence would be huge as well.

Now, we can move on to the home team. Don’t blink. . .you might miss it.

Sam Bradford QB Knee DNP DNP DNP Out
Rashod Hill OT Knee ------ ------ DNP Questionable
Mike Remmers OT Illness ------ DNP LP ------
Stephen Weatherly DE Illness DNP ------ ------ ------

We’ve know about Sam Bradford’s status for a couple of days now, but Rashod Hill is a late addition to the injury report, as he’s apparently tweaked a knee. Mike Remmers missed a practice earlier in the week with an undisclosed illness, but was back in a limited capacity today and isn’t even listed as “questionable,” so he’ll be out there on Sunday afternoon.

That’s a look at the injury reports for the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions as we get closer to Sunday afternoon’s big NFC North matchup. We’ll have more on this matchup as we get closer to kickoff.
